BREGENZ - LAKE CONSTANCE'S INTRIGUING CITY

Situated in a beautiful sheltered bay at the eastern end of Lake Constance, Bregenz is best known for its stunning open-air floating theatre: the"Festspiel und Kongresshaus"; where, every summer, some of the most sensational and unique opera festivals in the world, take place.

Bregenz is partly clinging to the slopes of the Pfänder mountain, dividing it into an upper and lower part.

In the upper town you can admire the majestic "Martinsturm" built in 1602 with the characteristic bulb dome and excellent viewpoint over the city.

"Bregenz the city with a perfect balance between nature, tradition, modernity and art."

In the lower town, everything revolves around the two main streets: Kornmarkstrasse and Rathausstrasse. Kormarktstrasse has the characteristic Theatre am Kornmarkt , originally an old barn, then the Vorarlberger Landes museum(Vorarlberg Museum), which exhibits items of historical interest from different eras : musical instruments, furniture, clocks, costumes and typical handicrafts in general.

As its name suggests, the Rathausstrasse is overlooked by the Town Hall and the Seekapelle St. Georg, built in 1445 and remodelled in Baroque style, in 1698.

Bregenz is also a cutting-edge city, with many modern and futuristic architectural buildings, including the Kunsthaus, which hosts exhibitions of contemporary art.

For those who want to relax by the lake, there is nothing more recommended than the See promenade, at the end of which you will find the fabulous theatre "Festspiel und Kongresshaus".

Not to be missed is the panoramic Pfänder cable, an excellent starting point for walking or mountain biking or simply just to take an unforgettable picture at sunset.

VADUZ THE CAPITAL OF LIECHTENSTEIN

The main attraction of the city is, undoubtedly, the Castle of Vaduz, official residence of the Prince, located on a plateau from which you can enjoy a splendid panoramic view.

It has been the property of the royal house since 1712 and for this reason, its interiors cannot be visited. You are, however, allowed to wander around the perimeter of its gardens and admire it from close up, the woods surrounding the castle make it a real fairy tale place and well worth the visit.

One of the smallest states in Europe. Vaduz a typical alpine town and capital of Liechtenstein.

The prince's wine collection is also open to visitors at the Hofkellerie, where you can take part in the tasting of local wines.

In the centre of Vaduz, there are several museums, including the natural history exhibition and Liechtenstein National Museum, where you can see ancient collections, telling the history of the Principality since Roman times.

The best known museum, however, is the Kunst museum of modern art, full of exhibitions within a fascinating modern structure.

Also worth a visit is the Postal Museum, quite small but containing all the national stamps up to the present day, a paradise for fans.

The only church in the city is the Cathedral of St. Florin, a splendid building in neo-Gothic style.

DISCOVER THE FLYING GIANTS IN THE ZEPPELIN AIR MUSEUM

The Zeppelin airships, called after their creator Ferdinand von Zeppelin, were built in Friedrichshafen and were the first air ships to fly over the waters of Lake Constance.

Today, the fascinating Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen is dedicated to the flying giants. If you wish, you can also book a flight on a modern airship, trips take from a half an hour, to two hours, flying over the entire region.

The museum is on three floors and as soon as you enter the building, you encounter the breath-taking reconstruction of a part of the most famous Zeppelin, the LZ 129 Hindenburg.

Nothing remains of the original gigantic balloon - 245 metres long and almost 47 metres wide - because It caught fire just before landing in New Jersey and literally went up in smoke in 36 seconds!

Don't miss a flight on a Zeppelin modern airship, to enjot the Constance Lake from above

The gondola, i.e. The cabin below the rigid balloon which is half rebuilt using various furnishings, along with the panoramic windows and passenger rooms, give a fairly precise idea of what this prodigy of early 20th century technology looked like.

The rest of the museum is no less impressive, giving an itinerary that covers the entire history of aviation from the Middle Ages to the present day, it displays the world's largest collection on aviation history and technology, with the help of period photographs, documents, original recordings and films.

A fascinating story of brave and tireless men who dared to go beyond the clouds.
