THE MEDIEVAL TOWN OF SIRMIONE

The pearl of Garda. Situated on the south bank of Lake Garda, on a long narrow peninsula jutting out into Lake Garda, Sirmione is one of the most important tourist spots on Lake Garda, famous for it’s thermal water and its rich historic and artistic heritage.

The town centre is characterised by narrow stone- walled alleys, inviting visitors into a romantic maze of streets, gardens and squares with suggestive views.

Don't miss the ruins of an ancient Roman Villa of the first Imperial era, known as the Catullo Grottoes, the Scaligera Fortress and the church of "S. Pietro" in Mavino, which dates back to the 8th century.
