ARCO DI TRENTO HISTORY AND ROCK CLIMBING
Dominated by the fort and has well conserved medieval castle which is open all year round, Arco di Trento is synonymous for free climbing.
Situated on the upper part of Garda valley, just 6 km from Riva del Garda, it is scattered with climbing routes, thanks to its easily accessible rock slaps of varying difficulty.
The historic centre is well conserved and is a pleasant walk while in search of local eateries and sports shops. The main square is dominated by the collegiate church of Our Lady of the assumption which is of Roman origins.
Arco is home town to the Arco Rock Festival, an international free climbing competition which is held every year in September.
